Initial training sessions

If you think you are likely to join the Squadron on this intake, there are a few important dates to know about in advance. If these dates are yet to be populated, please contact the Squadron closer to the date of the open evening.

• Cadet Drill Day – TBC
• Essential First Aid Training (Mandatory First Aid Qualification) – On a parade night within a few weeks of joining
• RAF Cosford Visit – History of the RAF – TBC

As part of all cadets initial training, they need to complete the above activities. Heartstart will take place on a parade night, with the Cadet Drill Day and the visit to RAF Cosford happening on either a Saturday or Sunday at a weekend.

Visited us at a previous open evening?

Due to our limited places for new cadets, when you register for an intake, we will only offer places to those who are old enough to join. If you have previously attended a Squadron open evening, but your child was too young to join we would encourage attendance at the first intake night when your child is old enough. Cadets will attend from the next parade night if they intend on joining and there are a number of important training dates they will need to registered for at this open evening.
